Electric Vehicle Charging Stations
Rationale
E-co2 is a multidisciplinary research team, combining design, technology and communication. This research group has been initiated by technology and communication researchers who saw the opportunities emission-free policies can offer. They gathered a group of researchers in technology, design, scenography and communication to research new ecologic and economic means of transport.
Objectives
E-co2 seeks to find solutions for communities embracing eco-innovation, by developing a manual to realise CO2-free charging zones (electricity), adaptable to each specific location and needs, and a community site in which all the stakeholders can share their knowledge. Combining technology ,design, community and usability in research, E-co2 aims at reaching and sensitizing people into new ecologic means of transport.
Activities
At this moment E-co2 is developing modular charging points for e-vehicles (cars, scooters, bicycles) for the 20 different cases (amongst others cities, companies, public transport…). These charging points are designed to fit into the environment but also to “sensitise” people for ecologic transportation. Through the design E-co2 aims at breaking fresh grounds and at reaching everybody, and not just the environment-minded.
Results
These charging points will be designed and realised.
